Though tonight is my last night here, and I will be going home with my mate shortly, I wanted to leave my mark on this world, even if it was something as small as this. My life here has been very meaningful, not only for myself but also for the tribe I am proud to be a part of, who will also be leaving the system with me to find another more accepting place to call home. I was never meant to be here for the rest of my life, and Maria understands this. Yalluk was indeed the name of Maria's past life identity, and shortly before my preparation for leaving she became her own being once again and will take over my position in the system when I am gone. I feel that my continued presence here would be a danger to all involved, thus my departure, but before I go it is my desire to share with you all the few things I have written as a part of CommunityBelonging.

I stand alone, In the night, while my tears stain the ground.
The stars shine down, in the tracks that I’ve left, that surround.
Will it ever be enough, for the ones I knew, once?
I look up from my past, and from what she had preserved.
I remember too well, how she left, why I came here.
Good god, Yalluk, I miss you, I know why you left but…
It still hurts, knowing that I am the one to remain…
You aren’t gone, you live on in me, in the ways of us…
Thoughts trail off, and I stand, alone in the dark, and wait.
The name on my lips now is of someone who still lives,
Who still walks this world, who I still care for in spirit.
I stand alone, and with my people I must ask this…
What can we do? Is there ever an again for that?
Will it ever be enough, for the ones I knew, once?
